"Research" is the engine of development. The European Union puts it, with education and innovation, in the so-called "knowledge triangle" to strengthen the EU growth and employment in a globalized economy. The Seventh Research Framework Program, covering the period 2007-2013, is for the EU a good opportunity to bring its research policy at the level of its economic and social ambitions, consolidating the European Research Area (ERA). To achieve this objective, the Commission has increased the annual EU budget for research in order to stimulate domestic and private investments. Knowledge and technology are the main resources of the EU representing the basis for growth and employment. The Framework Program funds a large number of high level projects and strengthens the innovation capacity of the European Union.

ISES, thanks to skilled and professional staff, is able to support their members at all stages of planning and management of European projects, from the research of call for proposals to the submission of a winning proposal and to the audit of the activities.

ISES activities to promote Research and Development:

- dissemination of specific information about the possibilities of participation in European programs of research and technological development;
- assistance in the preparation of research projects to be submitted to the European Commission;
- partners search for scientific and technological cooperation;
- support for technology transfer activities;
- check and technology audits in collaboration with centers of excellence at European level.
